Bonuan Bangus

This is the famous milkfish or what we call “bangus” which is probably our version of what salmon or trout represents for the northern hemisphere. Fried, dried, steamed, salted or even preserved in olive oil like sardines, bangus is popular anywhere in the country. “Bonuan” bangus is a variety from the coastal town of Bonuan which supposedly has the best-tasting milkfish in the country.
